BNI Audubon Business Exchange chapter that chartered on 1/30/08 in Henderson, KY.
In September of 2007, Ron Wathen, a CPA with Wathen & Sellars CPA's, decided it was time to start a chapter in the Henderson market. He had heard about BNI through his brother a member in Tampa, Fl. Ron then contacted our BNI Regional Office and attended a BNI Showcase meeting to learn about how to "start a chapter". BNI Assistant Director Nate Monroe worked with Ron & soon they were on their way.
The group reached 20 members by the end of November & began a 7 week BNI chartering process that taught them how to effectively use the BNI system to their advantage. They then hosted a grand opening to their chapter on January 23, 2008. 105 visitors were present & 39 of those visitors submitted an application for membership. The next week the group inducted 24 members to charter as a chapter of 47 members on January 30th. Since January the chapter has maintained an average size of 48 members & has passed over 900 referrals, which turned into over $130,408 of net income for the members of the chapter.
